memories of not only Namibia, but also Kowas Adventure Safaris. Cherish
your memories, forever...
The Namibian wind has blown over your footprints at Kowas, but your
footprints in our hearts will remain forever. Thank you for choosing Kowas
Adventure Safaris for your ultimate African safari to Namibia...
KOWAS TURNS GREEN:
Thank you for all your concerns about the recovery of the vegetation and
wildlife after the devastating veld fire during 20 July 2006 at Kowas.
We are happy to report that Kowas had a very, very early start to the
raining season - the earliest in many years. The rain was absolutely needed
in ensuring the survival of the wildlife and the subsequent recovery of
the
vegetation. Although still a lot of rain is needed, we can report that
excellent recovery of grass is experienced. However the bushes which where
badly damaged during the fire still struggle with the recovery. The actual
Namibian rainy season is from December - March, still a while to go...there
is still hope for more rain to come!
The wildlife is in excellent condition: many Oryx and Springbuck calves
can
be seen everywhere, which is an excellent sign of recovery. We are so
grateful and happy for this speedy recovery. We however continue to supply
mineral supplements for the wildlife in order to boast the immune system
and
energy levels.
With the above in mind, we expect that the vegetation at Kowas will be
back
to normal during the 2007 trophy hunting season. Wildlife at Kowas is
in
abundance while only about 10% of the Dordabis Conservancy has been affected
by the field fires during 2006.
Miracles really do happen! Thank you for your support, prayers and messages
of encouragement.
IMPROVEMENTS AT KOWAS:
The Kowas team always strives to improve the infrastructure and service
to
our clients ensuring not only a better service but also better facilities
to
cater for the needs of our friends visiting us.
FAMILY UNIT:
There is a drastic increase in demand for families accompanying our trophy
hunting Dads during their safari to Kowas. Namibia and Kowas has so much
to offer apart from hunting. Kowas Adventure Safaris therefore encourage
families to accompany their Dads when visiting Namibia. We have day trips,
touring excursions and many other facilities and activities at Kowas to
offer.
This in mind, we have decided to build a brand new family unit consisting
of
two bedrooms, two en suite bathrooms (hot water and flush toilets) with
a
combining sitting room (lounge) for the visiting families. The unit also
has its own private garden with a breathtaking view over the African
Savanna.
OPEN AIR BBQ AREA:
Kowas is renowned for its excellent cuisine. We have decided to construct
an open air BBQ area where we will continue to prepare typical African
dishes on an open fire. The major difference will be that our clients
could
now be present and observing the preparation process...sitting around
the
BBQ area enjoying a cold Namibian beer or sip on a glass of good South
African wine or even enjoy a sundowner of your choice. This BBQ area has
a
splendid view over the mountain and a waterhole.
TAXIDERMY SERVICES:
It is the sincere believe of the Kowas team that the obligation of Kowas
Adventure Safaris towards the safari experience of our valued clients
has
not been ended unless the trophy hunter can show his trophies against
the
wall as proof of his African hunting safari. We realize how eager our
clients are to get their trophies - regardless if it is shoulder mounts
or
European mounts - back in their own homes. Because we care, we have tried
our utmost best staying updated on the status of the trophies of our clients
while it has been under the care of the local Taxidermist.
Kowas Adventure Safaris is not satisfied with the service received from
the
taxidermy Nyati Wildlife Art. The following complaints have been received
directly from our valued client:
- Lack of communication from Nyati Wildlife Art;
- Not complying with delivery agreements.
Above complaints has led to huge frustration which resulted in the
intervention of Ansie to resolved concerns of our clients with Nyati
Wildlife Art. In lieu of this, we have decided not to continue with the
services of Nyati Wildlife Art.
Kowas Adventure Safaris is currently in the process of developing its
own
"dip and ship" facility at Kowas in order to extend the professional
service
to our clients. Kowas Adventure Safaris will be in a position to provide
"dip and ship" services as from February 2007. We will be able
to deliver
your raw trophies harvested with Kowas Adventure Safaris through a local
Shipper, called Namibia Safari Services, within two months after you have
conducted a hunt with us.
In order to make use of this Kowas Adventure Safaris "dip and ship"
service,
we request our clients to obtain their own taxidermist in their own country
of original where their trophies would be delivered to. Please ensure
that
the taxidermist of your choice is USDA approved. Information which would
be
needed in order to arrange for such a shipment would be the contact person,
name of company, physical shipping address, telephone number, fax number
and e-mail address.
We know that our clients would only benefit from this new approach toward
the shipping (via air or by boat) of the trophies. Time is of essence
in
today's life...so are you and your trophies to us.
ENDING TERM AS PRESIDENT OF NAMIBIA PROFESSIONAL HUNTING ASSOCIATION
(NAPHA):
Danie is ending his two year term as President of NAPHA during the Annual
General Meeting which is scheduled for 29 November 2006. He has decided
not to extend his term as President, but rather prefer to generate his
positive
energy and attention to Kowas and our precious clients. He has been
actively involved with NAPHA during the past six years, playing his part
in
ensuring a prosperous future for the trophy hunting industry in Namibia.
He would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank every client
for their loyal support and understanding when Danie were not available
to provide full attention to our clients during the past two years when
he had to attend meetings on behalf of NAPHA.
Also thank you for all the advice on a number of issues discussed which
assisted him in taking decisions which will benefit the trophy hunting
industry in Namibia. He is looking forward to the new season and the
opportunity to enjoy every moment with his hunting clients and their
accompanied families.

SPECIALS: DAILY RATE AND PACKAGES - FEBRUARY - APRIL 2007:
Due to the fact that Namibia is being marketed as a trophy hunting
destination mainly during the Namibian winter months (May - Aug) we want
to
encourage potential trophy hunters to Namibia to consider hunting with
Kowas Adventure Safaris during the most beautiful Namibian summer months,
February, March and April. The bushes, trees and grass are green and lush
during this time period.
If pictures of Kowas are being compared with the Namibian winter period
to
the Namibian summer period, the reaction is always the same - it is
difficult to believe that Kowas is the same place during winter and summer
times. In order to create an awareness of the possibility to hunt in
Namibia while the vegetation is green, we have therefore created a NAMIBIAN
SUMMER SPECIAL on DAILY RATE and PACKAGES
for hunting with Kowas Adventure Safaris during February, March and April
2007.
NAMIBIAN SUMMER SPECIAL:
Special: February, March, April 2007
Enjoy hunting in Namibia during the summer time.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain.
It's not something you learn in school.
But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship,
you really haven't learned anything."
